In the Orthodox wedding service, an already married Orthodox couple 'sponsors' the bride and groom. They witness the bride and groom's Orthodox faith and Christian lifestyle. After the wedding, they are considered family, and as such, they are a source of marital guidance and counsel for the newlyweds.

Jezabel and Joshua's marriage sponsors are Borislav (Bobby) Eftimov and Zlatina Antova. Bobby and Zlatina have known each other since childhood and have been married for nearly 20 years. They are originally from Bulgaria, but Utah has been their home since 2017.
